Our last stay on the Galapagos did not disappoint!

On our first day on San Cristobal we visited Playa Lobería, a beach around a 30 minute walk from the town. There were so many sea lions on the beach, including a few babies! We walked along the rocks to a nearby cliff and saw lots of birds nesting. Unfortunately no Blue Footed Boobys (birds endemic to the Galapagos with bright blue feet)!

The next day we did the biggest day trip of our time on Galapagos, the San Cristobal 360 tour. This tour takes you on a boat that goes around the entire San Cristobal Island. We stopped at three snorkelling spots and were able to admire the amazing and very varied landscapes around San Cristobal. We finally spotted some Blue Footed Boobys diving for fish! We had already purchased Blue Footed Booby hats and socks, so were getting nervous we would never actually spot any!

Our last day on the Galapagos was unexpectedly the highlight of our entire trip! We decided to do a hike to Playa Baquerizo via some view points and a snorkelling spot in the national park. The beach we visited was so full of sea lions and marine iguanas! The snorkelling spot was incredible, with perfect visibility of lots of turtles and a close interaction with a very cute sea lion playing right in front of us!

We are so sad to be leaving Galapagos, but very excited for our next stops! Our next destination is Quito on mainland Ecuador, where we’ll be based for trips to Cotopaxi National Park and the Amazon!
