El Chaltén, Patagonia

Our last stop in Patagonia was on the Argentinian side in El Chalten, the hiking capital of Argentina!

Despite visiting in summer, our first day was spent rugged up in our accommodation because it was below 0 and snowing outside! Thankfully, on our second day the weather improved and we went on a boat trip to see the Viedma Glacier, which is the largest in South America. We saw the glacier up close from the boat, as well as taking a small hike with views.

The highlight of our time in El Chalten was the Laguna de los Tres hike with views of Fitz Roy Peak. Fitz Roy is featured in the classic Patagonia brand logo! The hike was around 25km total, but the views were worth it! There was still a lot of snow at the top from the previous days which made the landscape even more stunning.

From El Chalten we fly to Buenos Aires for some warmer weather!
