Jordy and Em South America Trip!

A day trip so beautiful it deserves it’s own post!

On our last weekend in Medellin we took a two hour bus to the town of Guatape.

Our first stop was Piedra del Penol, a 220m (and over 700 step!) rock formation with beautiful views of the surrounding lakes.

After Piedra del Penol we took a “Motochiva” (TukTuk) into the town of Guatape which was beautiful. The buildings are all colourfully painted, with paintings representing the towns history. We spent the best day exploring the town, having lunch at a Cuban “restaurant” (basically a local Cuban family’s living room that they use as a restaurant), and finishing up with coffee and cake next to the lake!

We returned back to Medellin for one final night (full Medellin update coming soon!) before heading to the capital of Bogotá!
